The multi-turn intelligent actuator from our Bonray factory redefines process control reliability with absolute encoding sensing for precise valve management. Our engineers eliminated common failure points like manual/auto shift mechanisms and vulnerable worm gears, replacing them with a planetary transmission that boosts mechanical efficiency by over 30%. This actuator delivers direct output torque from 50 N.m to 3000 N.m, or up to 30,000 N.m when paired with our W-series gearboxes. A dual-sealed IP68 enclosure withstands 2-meter water immersion for 48 hours. You can install the unit outdoors or in hazardous areas with our explosion-proof versions (Ex db IIC T4 Gb for gas, Ex tb IIIC T130℃ Db for dust). The non-intrusive design lets you configure all parameters using local buttons or an infrared tool without opening the electrical cover, keeping dust and moisture away from sensitive electronics for exceptional longevity.

Does this multi-turn intelligent actuator require battery backup to retain valve position after a power failure?
No. Our factory equips the BD/BDM05-IIC series multi-turn intelligent actuator with a patented BM18 multi-turn absolute encoding position sensor. This non-contact measuring system remembers the exact valve position even when you cut all power. You never need batteries or periodic recalibration.
Multi-turn Intelligent Actuator Features
Our factory packed the BD/BDM05-IIC series multi-turn intelligent actuator with over a dozen protective and convenience features.
First, the full Chinese/English dot-matrix LCD displays valve position as large numbers and shows alarm messages in plain text. High-brightness LEDs indicate open and close limits.

Second, the non-intrusive magnetic switch design uses Hall sensors behind the enclosure – you twist the setting knob or point the infrared tool, and the actuator responds without any opening.

Third, the double-sealed terminal compartment keeps contaminants out even when you remove the cover for wiring.
Fourth, the planetary gear transmission plus first-stage gears uses high-grade structural steel and premium lubricant. You never need to add grease during the actuator’s lifetime.
Fifth, the simultaneous manual/electric operation removes the need for a mechanical clutch.
Sixth, the actuator provides multiple control modes: local inching/holding, remote switch (inching or holding), remote analog (4-20mA), ESD (selectable high/low active, override options), fieldbus, and two-wire control.
Seventh, protection includes limit stop, torque overload, automatic phase correction, instantaneous reverse delay, phase loss, motor overheat (thermostat in windings), and valve unseating logic (temporarily disables torque protection for 0.2-0.3 seconds during breakaway).

Eighth, the absolute encoder position sensor never loses its place.
Ninth, the absolute encoder torque sensor lets you set field-adjustable torque trip points.
Tenth, the bistable output contacts (S1-S4) retain their state even after a power failure.
Eleventh, the planetary reverse self-locking prevents back-driving when you remove power. Twelfth, the motor uses a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) induction design with high starting torque. Thirteenth, the split-body option handles extreme conditions.

Model and Type
The multi-turn intelligent actuator family includes three duty classes. BD-IIC on-off type suits applications with up to 60 starts per hour, 15 minutes continuous running, and 33.3% duty cycle. BD-IIC intermittent modulating type adds proportional control (4-20mA) with the same frequency but better precision. BDM-IIC frequent modulating type handles 1200 starts per hour (three-phase) or 600 (single-phase) with 50% duty cycle, using solid-state relays for wear-free operation. You also select the output speed – from 12 rpm to 144 rpm depending on the model. Torque ratings range from BD05 (50 N.m) to BD301 (3000 N.m).
