Does the multi-turn intelligent actuator require a battery backup to retain valve position data?

No. The BD-IIC/BDM-IIC series uses a patented BM18 absolute encoding position sensor. This non-contact sensor maintains valve position permanently, even during total power loss, eliminating battery replacement hazards and memory corruption.

The explosion-proof IP68 actuators multi-turn BD100-IIC series comprises three variants: on-off type, intermittent modulating type, and high-frequency modulating type.

BD100-IIC On-Off Explosion-proof IP68 Actuator Multi-turn – This model does not support proportional control. It is designed for applications where the operating frequency does not exceed 60 starts per hour, continuous running time is no more than 15 minutes, and the duty cycle remains at or below 33.3%.

BD100-IIC Intermittent Modulating Explosion-proof IP68 Actuator Multi-turn – This model features proportional control capability. It is suitable for operating frequencies up to 60 starts per hour (three-phase versions can achieve short-term frequencies as high as 600 starts per hour), with a maximum continuous running time of 15 minutes and a duty cycle not exceeding 33.3%.
