Description

Explosion-proof IP68 Actuator Overview

Engineers specify the explosion-proof IP68 actuator multi-turn BD300-IIC series when they need absolute reliability in hazardous areas. Bonray — an ISO 9001-certified factory with deep expertise in explosion-proof equipment — manufactures this explosion-proof IP68 actuator multi-turn to withstand gas explosions (Ex db IIC T4 Gb) and dust explosions (Ex tb IIIC T130°C Db). The explosion-proof IP68 actuator multi-turn  uses a non-contact absolute encoder (BM18 patent) that stores valve position without batteries, while the dual-seal IP68 housing allows submersion. Whether you control a penstock in a flood barrier or a choke valve in a refinery, this multi-turn intelligent actuator provides real-time torque readout, configurable ESD, and multiple fieldbus options. The factory backs every unit with a 48-hour submerged test before shipping.

Does the factory offer a version that keeps output contacts latched during a power failure?

Yes. The standard S1-S4 contacts are bistable. They maintain their position even when you completely disconnect power from the explosion-proof IP68 actuator multi-turn . This is critical for valve position indication in solar-powered or remote telemetry systems.

Explosion-proof IP68 Actuator Features

  1. Dual-Cable Entry Redundancy: The terminal box includes three entries (M27x2 + 2x M20x1.5 for small frames; M32x1.5 + 2x M20x1.5 for large frames). You can route power separately from signal cables, reducing EMI on the explosion-proof IP68 actuator multi-turn.

  2. Remote Forced Local Bypass: The “Remote” indication contact (terminals 15-16) tells your DCS when the multi-turn intelligent actuator is in local mode. You cannot accidentally leave the actuator in local after maintenance — the system will alarm.

  3. Thermal Reconnection Hysteresis: The motor thermostat auto-resets after cooling. This prevents nuisance lockouts. The explosion-proof IP68 actuator multi-turn  will resume operation once the winding temperature drops below the threshold.

  4. Magnetic Limit Setting: You set the open and close limits by rotating the knob without any tools. The Hall sensor detects the magnet position inside the sealed multi-turn intelligent actuator housing, ensuring no ingress points.

  5. Torque Profile Recording: The multi-turn intelligent actuator stores peak torque values during stroke. You can retrieve this data to diagnose valve packing wear or seat galling.

  6. Selectable Fail Direction: Using the menu, you decide the multi-turn intelligent actuator’s behavior on loss of control power: stay put, move to close, or move to open.

Model and Type

The BD300-IIC on-off actuator lacks proportional control and is permitted only under the following conditions: operating frequency ≤ 60 cycles per hour, single continuous operation duration ≤ 15 minutes, and operating duty cycle ≤ 33.3%.

The BD300-IIC intermittent modulating actuator features proportional control. Its applicable conditions are: operating frequency ≤ 60 cycles per hour (for three-phase models, the short-term operating frequency can reach up to 600 cycles per hour), continuous operation time ≤ 15 minutes, and duty cycle ≤ 33.3%.
