Explosion-proof Multi-turn Actuator Overview
When your process requires continuous modulation, the explosion-proof multi-turn actuator BD/BDM60-IIC series outperforms standard on-off drives. Our Suzhou Bonray production line builds this actuator with solid-state relays and a high-speed control chip, achieving up to 1200 starts per hour (three-phase) and a 50% duty cycle. You get precise positioning for closed-loop control in chemical dosing, power plant soot blowers, or pipeline pressure regulation. The actuator retains all non-intrusive, IP68, and explosion-proof features while delivering smoother, faster response. Torque range from 50 N.m to 3000 N.m, and we can pair it with our W-series gearbox for up to 30,000 N.m.

1200 Starts/Hour Capability: The explosion-proof multi-turn actuator BD/BDM60-IIC series uses solid-state output switches with no mechanical contacts. This eliminates arc wear and allows continuous modulating duty.

Dual-Seal IP68 Housing: Install this actuator in outdoor pits or washdown areas. It withstands 2m submersion for 48 hours.

IP68 Diving Test Chamber Non-Invasive Configuration: Set all parameters via magnetic control konb or infrared tool. No need to remove the electrical cover—critical for maintaining explosion-proof integrity.
Fieldbus Ready: Order with Profibus-DP, Modbus (half/full duplex), Devicenet, FF, or Hart. Redundant bus cards available for critical processes.
ESD Override with Configurable Action: Define ESD as “disable,” “close,” or “open.” Select high/low active, and whether to ignore motor overheat.
Automatic Phase Correction & Protection: The explosion-proof multi-turn actuator BD/BDM60-IIC series corrects phase sequence, detects phase loss, and protects against instantaneous reversal.
Manual Override Without Clutch: Turn the handwheel anytime, even while the motor runs. No manual/electric changeover lever to fail.
Configurable Output Contacts (S1-S4 & R1-R4): Assign any combination of open/closed limit, over-torque, running, or mid-position. Bistable (S) retain state during power loss; monostable (R) do not.
Model and Type
The BD60-IIC series explosion-proof multi-turn actuator is available in three types: On-Off, Intermittent Modulating, and High-Frequency Modulating.

BD60-IIC On-Off explosion-proof multi-turn actuator has no proportional control function. It is suitable for applications with operating frequency ≤ 60 starts/hour, continuous operation time ≤ 15 minutes, and duty cycle ≤ 33.3%.
BD60-IIC Intermittent Modulating explosion-proof multi-turn actuator has proportional control function. It is suitable for applications with operating frequency ≤ 60 starts/hour (three-phase models can achieve short-term operating frequency up to 600 starts/hour), continuous operation time ≤ 15 minutes, and duty cycle ≤ 33.3%.
BDM60-IIC High-Frequency Modulating explosion-proof multi-turn actuator uses a motor designed for frequent starts. The motor control drive unit employs solid-state relays with no mechanical contacts. By utilizing higher-speed and higher-precision control chips and components, and further optimizing the program and control circuit, it achieves an operating frequency of up to 1200 starts/hour (600 starts/hour for single-phase) at rated modulating torque, with a duty cycle of up to 50%.
The BDM-IIC High-Frequency Modulating Actuator offers higher positioning accuracy than the BD-IIC On-Off Actuator and Intermittent Modulating Actuator. It fully meets the requirements for closed-loop automatic control loop actuation units in most industrial applications.
