Description
Multi-turn Intelligent Actuators BD/BDM15-IIC Overview
When your facility operates in extreme conditions – high temperature, vibration, dust, moisture, or explosive atmospheres – you need multi-turn intelligent actuators built to survive. Our factory produces the BD15-IIC series with rugged double-sealed IP68 enclosures that withstand 2-meter water immersion for 48 hours. These multi-turn intelligent actuators use a non-intrusive magnetic control interface, so you never open the housing to adjust parameters. The absolute encoding position sensors and torque sensors eliminate battery backups and provide drift-free measurements. You get planetary gear transmissions that run 30% more efficiently than worm gear designs and never require regreasing.

The actuators allow simultaneous manual and electric operation – no mechanical clutches to jam. You can install the base models outdoors from -30℃ to +70℃, or choose the split-body versions (BD-IICF/BDM-IICF) to separate the electronics from the heat or vibration source. For hazardous areas, our factory offers gas explosion-proof (Ex db IIC T4 Gb) and dust explosion-proof (Ex tb IIIC T130℃ Db) versions. These multi-turn intelligent actuators also include automatic phase correction, phase loss protection, motor thermal protection, and torque overload protection. You have multiple control options: local, remote switch, remote analog (4-20mA), fieldbus (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet, FF, Hart), ESD, and two-wire control.

Multi-turn Intelligent Actuators BD15-IIC Features
Durability starts with the enclosure. Our factory casts the housing from high-strength aluminum alloy (copper-free to resist corrosion) and applies a polyester powder coating. The O-rings and shaft oil seals create dual barriers against moisture and dust. Even the terminal cover has a second seal that remains active when you remove the cover for wiring. The multi-turn intelligent actuator’s non-intrusive design eliminates all shaft penetrations for switches – the magnetic knobs work through the wall. The absolute encoding position sensor (BM18 patent) uses no batteries or contacts – it never loses position. The absolute encoding torque sensor directly measures output strain without slip rings or potentiometers. The planetary gear train uses case-hardened steel gears that resist wear.
The motor has Class F insulation (155℃) with an embedded thermostat. For modulating duty, the BDM-IIC version replaces mechanical contactors with solid-state relays – no arcing, no contact wear, and 1200 starts/hour capability. The actuator includes instantaneous reverse protection – a built-in time delay prevents the motor from slamming into reverse. The phase correction feature works automatically – you don’t care about L1/L2/L3 order. If a phase drops, the actuator stops and alarms. The valve unseating routine gives an extra torque burst when breaking a stuck valve. You can also enable intermittent run control to avoid fluid hammer or surge. The ESD input overrides all other commands – you choose open, close, or no action, and you decide whether it bypasses motor overheat protection. The S1-S4 bistable outputs remember their state after power loss. The LCD display shows torque, position, speed, and alarm messages. For extreme environments, the split-body option (BD-IICF/BDM-IICF) moves the electronics up to 10 meters away.
Model and Type
The multi-turn intelligent actuators lineup includes three duty ratings: BD-IIC (on-off), BD-IIC (intermittent modulating), and BDM-IIC (frequent modulating). The on-off models handle 60 starts/hour maximum. The intermittent modulating models also handle 60 starts/hour (600 for short-time three-phase) with 4-20mA control. The frequent modulating BDM-IIC models handle 1200 starts/hour (three-phase) or 600 (single-phase) with 50% duty cycle.

How does the multi-turn intelligent actuators achieve IP68 without sacrificing configurability?
Our factory uses a dual-seal design for the terminal compartment and a non-intrusive magnetic knob for all settings. You twist the external knob or point the infrared tool at the window – the internal Hall sensors detect your commands. The electrical housing remains completely sealed during configuration and wiring.
